Summer Showtime FAQs Call us:01903 528613 Summer Showtime FAQ Tickets & Entry Do I need to bring a paper ticket? No, your ticket will be checked digitally. Can I buy a ticket on the door? Yes, our friendly ticketing marshals will be able to sell tickets to you on the door. Cash and card are accepted. Please note we will not be able to sell tickets on the door at any sold out screenings. What happens to my tickets if I am unable to come? Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable unless the event has been cancelled by the organiser. Consider asking friends or family if they would like to use your ticket. What time can I arrive? The gates for Summer Showtime will be open from 6:30pm. Screening is due to begin around 8:30pm. Film Schedule & Entertainment What time will the films start? We will begin screenings as soon as it is dark enough to do so. The sun sets at around 8:30pm during the dates of our cinema, but this may differ depending on how sunny or bright it is that day. Please bear with us while we wait for the right time to begin the film. What time will it end? The evening will be ending no later than 11pm. Each night will have slightly different timings depending on the duration of the film and the time at which we are able to show it. We can begin screening as soon as it is dark enough to do so, which will be around 8:30pm. Is the event suitable for children? If the film is U or PG then the screening will be suitable for children. Please note that the film might not begin until after 8:30pm due to light levels, meaning that the film could finish around 10:30pm. Will there be any other entertainment? Our amazing hosts from Your Community Cinema often kick the night off with a mini quiz or a spot of light karaoke while you settle in. Keep an eye out for extras like raffles and mini games too. What are the age restrictions on the films? The Lion King – U Dirty Dancing – 12 Four Weddings and a Funeral – 15 Back to the Future – PG The Greatest Showman – PG Food & Drink What type of food will be available to purchase? The ever-popular JimJams will be serving fresh hot food, while the delightful Eiswagen will be providing delicious ice creams and hot drinks from their original 70s VW ice cream van. Vegan options will be available. What drinks will be available to purchase? There will be a licensed bar on site serving beer, cider, wine and soft drinks. Hot and iced coffee and tea will be available to purchase from Eiswagen. Will there be access to drinking water? There will not be access to tap water, but bottled water can be purchased from the bar or food vendors. Can I bring my own food and drink? Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks. No glass is permitted on site.Seating & What to Bring Do you have any seating at the event? Blankets will be available to hire for £3. You are welcome to bring your own camping chairs and blankets. What should I bring with me? Please make sure you bring suitable clothing and layers for the screening. Once the sun has set it can get chilly, so be sure to wrap up warm. You might also want to bring a camping chair or picnic blanket to watch the film on. Can I bring camping chairs or picnic blankets? Yes, we encourage everyone to bring their own camping chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the film on.Accessibility What accessibility arrangements are in place? The event is held on a flat outdoor surface. There is easy access into the event via the entrance. At the end of the event the exit gate will be opened up directly onto the Beach House Grounds car park. Our film provider does not currently provide hearing loops, however if you are a headphone user we are able to arrange for this with notice. The film screenings will not include subtitles. Is the site accessible for wheelchairs and mobility aids? Summer Showtime is held at Beach House Grounds, a flat outdoor park. It is widely considered to be wheelchair accessible. Who do I contact if I have access requirements? Please contact [email protected] with any specific accessibility requirements or queries ahead of the screening so that we can ensure everything runs smoothly for you on the night.Travel & Parking Is parking available? There is a small pay and display car park at Beach House Grounds, however we expect this will be busy. We encourage visitors to walk or use public transport where possible. What are the local public transport links? The nearest train station is Worthing Train Station The closest bus stops to the Beach House Grounds in Worthing are located on Marine Parade (just outside the grounds) and Brighton Road. These stops are directly served by Stagecoach Coastliner 700, 701, and 16 bus routes, making it easy to reach from central Worthing or BrightonFacilities Will there be toilets on site? Yes, there will be portable toilet units including an accessible unit. Is there a First Aid tent? Yes, there will be a first aid tent/point for any medical issues on the night. We will always have a first aider on site.Weather What happens if the weather is bad? The cinema is outdoors and will go ahead in the event of rain. Please check the forecast on the day of the screening and come prepared for the conditions. If it does rain, we just need to call upon the Great British spirit, dress accordingly and live for the moment! Our team will be closely monitoring weather forecasts in the lead up to our shows and should there ever be any concern regarding the weather, we will inform all ticket holders by email. Otherwise, it can be assumed that shows will be going ahead as planned. Dogs Are dogs allowed? We welcome friendly, well-behaved dogs. All mess must be cleaned up after so that the space is suitable for visitors to our other screenings. Please consider others if your dog is prone to barking, as this could disturb the film for other guests. Security & Site Rules What are the security arrangements for the event? We will have security provided by iPro Security who will be on site at all times during the live event. Will there be bag checks? Security will be on site and may perform bag checks if necessary. Is smoking or vaping allowed on site? This is a smoke and vape-free event. Counter Terrorism In line with Martyn’s Law 2025, in the rare event of a firearms or weapons attack, follow the RUN, HIDE, TELL protocol. RUN – to a place of safety. This is a better option than to surrender or negotiate. If there’s nowhere to go then… HIDE – Remember to turn your phone to silent and turn off vibrate. Barricade yourself in if you can. TELL – the police by calling 999 when it is safe to do so. Are there any prohibited items for this event? The following items are not permitted on site: Weapons of any kind (including knives, firearms, imitation weapons and offensive weapons) Fireworks, flares, sparklers, smoke canisters and explosives Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia Glass bottles, jars and other glass containers Kegs or large-volume alcohol containers Barbecues, camping stoves and open flames Cooking equipment or gas canisters Tents, gazebos, marquees or other structures Large tables or oversized furniture Any item deemed dangerous, offensive or likely to cause disruption Need more information?
