Older People's Services

Guild Care offers a range of free and low-cost services for older people to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing.

Creating Connections

Creating Connections is a warm and welcoming service for people aged 65 and over living in Worthing. The service aims to support people to remain independent in their own homes and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, which can have a significant impact on people’s health and wellbeing.

We run a number of activities (many of which are free) for people to enjoy, make new friends and socialise.

Befriending

Guild Care also offers a befriending service for people who find it difficult to leave their homes to socialise and meet people. We offer telephone befriending, and a home visiting service with regular visits by a volunteer, to provide companionship and friendship.

We also offer short term, goal-based befriending to provide more 1:1 support to people. This is available to people who have lost confidence after a fall or have poor mobility and need help to socialise, make friends, and engage with their local community.

Who is this service for?
Our team can help to assist people of pension age, people living with dementia, children and adults with learning disabilities, carers and those supporting vulnerable people.

Help at Home After Hospital

We help people regain confidence and independence after a hospital visit, connect them to other support services, and prevent the need to move into permanent residential care or additional hospital stays.

Transport

Transport is a vital part of our work in reducing isolation and improving the health and wellbeing of people in the community.

Connecting local people to our services is the important role of our dedicated transport team. It enables local people who cannot drive or may not be confident about leaving their home to easily access Guild Care’s range of services.
