Haviland House Day Service in Goring-by-Sea is hosting a special Open Day on Saturday 7^th March. The afternoon event, which takes place between 1pm and 3pm, offers visitors a chance to meet the team and discover how the day service supports people living with dementia and their loved ones.

No booking is needed for the Open Day and everyone’s welcome to drop in for a relaxed afternoon with tea, conversation, and a warm welcome from the friendly staff.

Visitors can explore the purpose-built centre and learn more about the social activities on offer for people living with dementia, such as gardening, baking, quizzes, live music, and regular events. The service also enables a short respite break for families, who can relax knowing their loved one is cared for and provided with a hot lunch.

Kara Farley, team leader at Haviland House Day Service, said, “We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone into the warm, supportive setting we offer.

“Everything we do here is focused on helping people feel valued and connected. If you or someone you care for is living with dementia, pop in and join us for a cup of tea. There’s no pressure, it’s a chance to look around and meet the team - so come along and ask as many questions as you like to see how we might be able to support you too.”

Haviland House Day Service opened in 2015 as part of Worthing’s trusted social care charity Guild Care and will also be hosting a series of free social events throughout March for people living with dementia and their carers to enjoy together.

These include a cheerful afternoon of singing with the Positive Voices Dementia Choir on 14^th March, a Sunday Social afternoon on 22^nd March with live music, dancing, and plenty of tea and cake, and a delightful Saturday Afternoon Tea on 28^th March, filled with well-known songs that inspire memories.
