Guild Care’s forever homes offer Christmas cheer to residents and their families At Guild Care’s three care homes in Worthing, Caer Gwent, Haviland House, and Linfield House, residents have been enjoying fun and festive cheer this Christmas. As ‘forever homes’, Guild Care’s care homes offer a real sense of belonging, which extends to residents’ families too. Each of Guild Care’s homes is embracing the season with festive events like Christmas fayres, carol singing, and family gatherings. Kevin Burke, director of care homes and dementia services at Guild Care, highlights the importance of family during this special time of year, saying, “Our homes are virtually full, and the joy we see during family visits, especially at Christmas, reinforces why we do what we do. Each home is bursting with Christmas activities, many where family and friends are welcome to join the fun. Our caring teams are fully embracing the spirit of the season and we’ve been holding Christmas lunches for residents.” The care and attention that Guild Care provides is reflected in the high levels of satisfaction from residents in their regular customer surveys. The charity has an overall score of 9.8/10 on third party website, carehome.co.uk, with glowing reviews from more than 160 residents and their loved ones. At Caer Gwent, resident Brenda has made herself completely at home. “My family can just drop by and sign in whenever they want,” she said, “When any of my family visit, it’s as a family, not as carers. This is my home, so if I want to mix or join in, I can, and if I want to be quiet, I can just go to my room, which I love.” Brenda’s ensuite bedroom is filled with personal touches, from photos to favourite furnishings and she’s delighted with her decision to move to Caer Gwent. “I couldn’t have done anything better,” she said. “If you’re going to move into a care home, it should be really feel like home. Here, you have the freedom to do as you wish.” For people living with dementia, Haviland House offers dedicated care in a warm, supportive environment. One family member commented on the relief of seeing their mother properly cared for, saying, “Although I would have liked to have looked after mum myself, I am certain that I could not have provided everything she needs. Haviland House does that very well. She is happy, safe, and cared for.” This festive season, Guild Care’s homes are filled with laughter, music, and family gatherings. Residents and their loved ones can enjoy the sense of belonging, whether through carols, games, crafts, or simply being together. For families like Brenda’s, the reassurance that loved ones are safe, warm, and surrounded by care makes all the difference, especially at Christmas. Guild Care’s commitment to creating forever homes ensures that residents can have peace of mind knowing they have 24-hour nursing care as standard and the assurance that their new home is ‘forever’, so they can look forward to a more secure and settled New Year.
