Anyone wanting to take on the challenge of the Brighton Marathon in April can still get a place on the start line. Worthing’s trusted social care charity, Guild Care is offering the chance for three people to run the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 12th April 2026 in support of the charity’s community work.

The charity is inviting runners to step forward for this coastal challenge. By securing one of Guild Care’s limited charity places, participants will help fund essential services for older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities across the Worthing community.

Daryl Wollers from Guild Care said, “We’re delighted to have secured these spots as we know how many enthusiastic runners are here in Worthing. It’s great to be able to offer people the chance to run in one of the country’s most popular coastal marathons while raising money for a cause that has been making a real difference locally for more than 90 years.”

He added that the charity’s support for runners would begin from the moment they signed up. Guild Care asks each participant to raise £400 and provides guidance throughout training and fundraising to help runners feel confident and supported in the months leading up to race day.

Darren Bamber, Area Retail Manager at Guild Care, completed the Brighton Marathon in aid of the charity in 2025 with colleague Ben Wilson, who is a van driver at Guild Care. Darren said, "I’m from Brighton and I’ve done the marathon there twice now. It’s an amazing atmosphere. Everyone’s outside their homes to cheer on the runners.

“It’s one of the most rewarding challenges I’ve taken on and I’d really encourage anyone thinking of taking part to just do it – sign up now and get training!”

The Brighton Marathon will take place on Sunday 12th April 2026, starting at 8am and finishing at 4pm.
