Guild Care has announced two new Open Days ahead of the launch of its brand-new dementia day service at the local charity’s community hub, Holland House, located on Little High Street in Worthing. The new service, opening in March 2026, will provide vital support for people living with dementia and much-needed respite for their families and carers.

People interested to find out more about the new service are invited to attend an Open Day at Holland House to explore the new facility, meet the experienced team, and learn more about what the service offers:

• Friday 23rd January 2026, from 10.30am to 12.30pm
• Friday 20th February 2026, from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Visitors will be able to talk with Sarah Johnson who will be heading the Holland House Dementia Day Service. Sarah, who managed Guild Care’s Haviland House Dementia Day Service, joined the service more than 10 years ago so has a wealth of experience in caring for people living with dementia.

The Open Days at Holland House will also be chance to discover more about the support available, the assessment process, and how Guild Care helps people living with dementia to enjoy fulfilling and meaningful lives in a safe, welcoming environment.

The new service will also provide essential respite for carers, providing reassurance that their loved ones are engaged, supported and well cared for throughout the day. There will be a range of activities tailored to individual interests and abilities. Each session will also include a freshly prepared hot lunch, offering members the chance to enjoy a nutritious meal in a sociable setting.

Sarah Johnson said, “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people into our Holland House Day Service and showing them what this new service has to offer.

“We know how important dementia day services are for both individuals and the people who care for them, and our aim is to create a warm, supportive space where people can feel safe and engaged and, at the same time, giving families peace of mind and some time for themselves.”

Guild Care has provided social care and wellbeing services in Worthing and the surrounding areas since 1933. The opening of the Holland House Dementia Day Service reflects the charity’s ongoing commitment to helping people live well, stay connected and receive high-quality care within their local community.
