At home, Hannah lives with her mum, stepdad, two younger brothers, three dogs and a cat.

She uses a wheelchair and enjoys many of the options and activities available each day at Fitzalan Howard Day Centre, especially the drama and the shows they put on.

She enjoys all the activities on offer as well as how welcoming people are, saying, “Here we’re all mates, everybody’s friendly.”

One of her favourite activities is cooking in the specially equipped teaching kitchen. Here, Hannah has made everything from baguette pizza, pasta, and beef burgers to cakes. “I like cooking, especially savoury things,” she says, with scotch eggs and sausage rolls special favourites.

This Christmas, Hannah is looking forward to playing ‘Silly Billy’ in Fitzalan’s production of Jack & the Beanstalk – “I bring the comedy” she says with a smile.

Hannah’s previously played Silly Billy in an earlier production of Robin Hood and performed so well she’s been recast in the same role!

Other performances she’s been involved with include Oliver (where she played the Artful Dodger), Beauty and the Beast, Grease, Hansel & Gretal, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

She lights up when she talks about the shows they put on, saying “I like everything about the shows. I like the dramas and the pantos.”

Hannah also makes use of the computer room and enjoys doing jigsaws but it’s always good to have a choice. “It’s really nice here,” she says, adding another piece to her jigsaw, “there are loads of choices and you get options of what you want to do".
