Worthing’s largest social care charity, Guild Care, has opened the doors to its latest charity superstore at Southwick, which was officially launched on Thursday 1st February by social media star Jen Graham.

Known by hundreds of thousands of people on social media as Charity Shop Girl, Jen Graham is an expert at sourcing great quality, preloved items at charity shops across the country. She recently visited Guild Care’s superstore at The Greenhouse in East Worthing to explore one of the UK’s largest charity outlets.

This February saw Jen retrace her steps from her hometown of Liverpool to check out Guild Care’s newest charity shops in West Sussex.

Adam Rider, Director of Retail at Guild Care, said, “It was great to welcome Charity Shop Girl back to show her our latest store at Southwick which is already off to a flying start. Jen really knows what she’s looking for in terms of quality in a range of items, so we’re delighted that she’s been able to find everything on her wish list and a few extras as well.”

Guild Care also welcomes good quality donations at all its charity shops and has special donation centres at Southwick, The Greenhouse, Woods Way, and Littlehampton for swift and efficient drop-offs.

After cutting the ribbon at Southwick, Jen headed to Guild Care’s shop in the heart of Horsham. The Horsham charity shop opened in July last year and has already attracted a firm following from local shoppers keen to secure sustainable fashion through high-quality preloved clothes and accessories.

To complete her tour, Jen visited the heart of Crawley where Guild Care opened their charity shop in January 2023

As a charity, Guild Care is dedicated to reducing social isolation and social stigma. All the money raised in their charity shops helps support older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities through a diverse range of services.

Guild Care opened its first charity shop more than 40 years ago and now has 13 charity shops in West Sussex, with more shops due to open this year. Customers are welcome to explore a wide variety of items including clothes, accessories, furniture, toys, books, bric-a-brac, electricals and more. Donations of pre-loved items are always welcomed.
